You want to attend the Halloween party but you're just too busy for costume planning. Forget about packaged costumes–– they're overpriced and poor quality. It's too much effort to make one from scratch and you don't want to spend the money. Well, fear not Lazy Bones–– with these cheap and easy ideas, you'll be costume-contest-ready in no time.

1. Cool Ghost

Here's an old-school ghost costume with a twist. As a cool ghost you'll get no "boos"–– you'll receive applause and laughter! Whip up this spirit dude with an old white bedsheet and a pair of your coolest shades. Transform into a "sexy ghost" by wearing lingerie over top of the sheet.

2. Kim Possible

Cartoon characters like Kim make it possible to dress like them with items from your closet. The only thing you may want to buy is a red wig but it's not necessary. Throw on a pair of khakis, a black turtle neck, and gloves and practice your best secret agent moves.

3. Ketchup & Mustard

Chances are you've got some sort of red or yellow attire in your wardrobe. If not, these clothes will be easy to find in a thrift store. With a partner, find red and yellow birthday hats from the dollar store as lids for your noggins.

4. Clown

The beauty about being a clown is that you don't have to be a makeup artist to do the face painting. Clowns are known to be a bit sloppy and silly. Clown costumes are simple to create with clothes and accessories from your closet and any colorful makeup you can scrounge up.

5. Spa Day

Lean into your laziness with a costume that's all about relaxation. With a robe and a towel on your head, your costume will have you ready for bed straight after the party. Slather on a face mask and have cucumber slices handy in case you need a mid-party nap.

6. Witch 

Classic Halloween costumes will never go out of style. A witch is a symbol of the season and a timeless costume that is quick and cheap. All you really need is a black dress and boots that you likely already own. A witch hat is easy to find this time of year and you'll find your transportation in the broom closet.

7. Lumberjack

Especially if you're Canadian, you probably own a plaid shirt and a toque (AKA a beanie). A traditional lumberjack's attire looks best with suspenders, work boots, and an axe.

8. Mario Brothers

These iconic Nintendo brothers are widely recognizable and simple to recreate. With a green and red shirts, denim overalls, and white gloves you can call yourselves Mario and Luigi. Don't forget to draw or stick on some epic mustaches if you can't grow your own.

9. Evil Doctor

If you're in the medical profession, you don't need to do any shopping. For the rest of us, scrubs and lab coats are easy to come by. Slap on a face mask and splatter yourself with red paint for that extra evil aesthetic.

10. Mummy

Transforming yourself into a mummy sounds like a lot of effort but it doesn't require much work at all. You just need long strips of fabric to wrap yourself in. If that sounds like too much, check out your bathroom cupboard. You can mummify yourself with toilet paper.
